If you like variety, hands-on work, and solving problems, this is the place for you. Dymax is a fifth-generation, family-owned manufacturer in Wamego, Kansas. In this role, you’ll help produce large steel components that are used in heavy-duty attachments and rail equipment. We’re looking for someone with mechanical aptitude who pays attention to detail and takes initiative. CNC experience is a plus, but not required. We’re willing to train the right person.
What you’ll do
- Operate and monitor CNC lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills
- Keep machines running by gathering parts, restarting cycles, and preparing work for the next step
- Learn setup work, tool changes, offsets, boring operations, and basic program edits
- Read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring tools to inspect parts
- Work from the dispatch list and help keep production on schedule
- Communicate with fabrication, welding, assembly, planning, and engineering when issues come up
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area

Qualifications
Must have
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math and geometry skills
- Attention to detail

- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn
Helpful, but not required
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, indicators, or similar measuring tools
- CNC machining or machine operation experience
- Experience with setup, boring operations, or basic program edits
- Background in heavy equipment, fabrication, structural steel, rail, ag, mining, or automotive work
