Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills to produce precision components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and work instructions.

Job Overview

The CNC Nesting & Layout Technician is responsible for creating efficient cutting layouts and nesting programs for plate processing operations using ProNest software or similar CAD/CAM systems.

This role combines technical problem-solving, production coordination, inventory awareness, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate understands fabrication workflows, enjoys optimizing processes, and can balance speed with accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Nesting & Layout Operations

  • Create and optimize CNC nesting layouts for burn table operations using ProNest software
  • Generate layouts to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap
  • Support cutting operations for new work orders and rework requirements
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and SolidWorks files

Production Coordination

  • Monitor burn table workflow and production status
  • Prioritize nesting based on production schedules and work order demand
  • Reprint operation tickets and support production documentation from Sage ERP
  • Coordinate with fabrication and welding teams to support downstream workflow

Inventory & Material Management

  • Assist with cycle counting and inventory accuracy for full, half, and remnant plate inventory
  • Receive plate and structural steel materials into Sage ERP
  • Support proper material labeling and inventory organization

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Troubleshoot nesting or layout issues as production requirements change
  • Identify opportunities to improve material yield and production efficiency
  • Follow established nesting and inventory procedures while contributing ideas for improvement

Qualifications

Must Have

  • Experience with ProNest or similar nesting/CAD-CAM software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing prints
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to changing priorities

The Purchasing Agent is the operational engine of Dymax’s supply chain. This role owns the day-to-day execution of procurement — monitoring demand, placing and confirming purchase orders, and keeping material flow ahead of the shop floor.

You’ll manage multiple demand streams, work directly with vendors, and support production through disciplined, timely purchasing decisions. Success requires strong systems thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to move quickly without losing accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

Demand Monitoring & PO Execution

  • Monitor two demand lanes daily:
  • Sage ERP (work ticket and BOM-driven demand)
  • Smartsheet (general purchasing requests)
  • Run net deficit reports and place POs to eliminate shortages
  • Purchase to reorder point (ROP) where appropriate based on spend discipline
  • Confirm vendor orders, track delivery dates, and maintain accurate records

Production Support & Order Release

  • Monitor and act on prebilled orders requiring purchasing action
  • Identify long lead-time items and purchase proactively
  • Run Un-Issued Components reports to resolve order-specific shortages
  • Ensure work order–linked materials are purchased and tracked correctly

Data Review & Reporting

  • Review Inventory and Purchasing BI dashboards daily
  • Identify discrepancies, risks, or anomalies and escalate as needed
  • Run weekly ROP reports and execute replenishment strategy
  • Maintain visibility into Smartsheet-driven procurement needs

Vendor Coordination & Escalation

  • Serve as primary point of contact for vendor confirmations and follow-ups
  • Escalate urgent or high-impact procurement needs with clear context
  • Support transition of strategic purchases to Buyer-level ownership
  • Assist with pricing and availability requests from Sales

Operations Alignment

  • Participate in daily operations meetings prepared with order status updates
  • Communicate material risks and incoming supply clearly and proactively
  • Maintain alignment across Production, Engineering, and Inventory teams

Process Discipline & Improvement

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
  • Support lead time updates and reorder point analysis (quarterly)

What You Bring

Must Have
